A Three Year Old and a Needle

I can only imagine there are some less exciteable people out there, perhaps non-parents who wonder if what I write about it really worthy of internet content.

We strung popcorn today, so what? It's really not that big of a deal. True, unless you're 3.

When you're 3 it's a brand new thing that you've never done before.
And you have a loud little brother who sometimes gets in the way of art projects, but this time he's happy to sit and eat the medium.

It's a big deal when your Mommy digs through her things to find a very big blunt needle so that you can do it all on your own without getting hurt.

It requires things that are difficult when you're 3....focus, patience, motor skills, and a gentle touch.

When you're 3 sometimes you have to be a good example for your little brother who is imitading with his plastic safety needle. Meaning...don't go poking anyone.

It's also hard not to be messy, but that's okay...Mommy said it's nothing a broom can't handle. It's really too bad that our dogs won't eat popcorn. They eat everything else!

It's not very long or impressive but when you're 3 something like this might take you a good 20 minutes of concentration. And THAT is a big deal indeed.

Great project! Will is already planning on stringing popcorn for next year's "no theme" tree.
